Open Ph.D. and M.Sc. Positions at University of Nevada, Las Vegas in Affectively Intelligent Systems / Human Computer Interaction Multiple research positions are available at Affectively Intelligent Systems and HCI Lab in the School of Informatics at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Current projects are focusing on designing and building intelligent computer systems that can build models of their users for an enhanced natural communication during HCI. Particular interest is given on recognizing emotions in multimodal and virtual reality environments through physiology and responding to emotions by building affective user models. The ideal candidate for the Ph.D. program will have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Informatics, Cognitive Psychology, or another closely related field and expertise (or at least interest) in empirical emotion research and statistical signal processing, analysis and classification. In rare occasions, exceptional successful candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in the desired fields will also be considered. The ideal candidate for the M.Sc. program will have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Informatics, Cognitive Psychology, or another closely related field and interest in empirical emotion research.
